Photography & Video Wiki!?

[Gingerbread Man]

I've noticed quite a lot of these threads while I've been lurking about on here and they are normally solved by the same answer, week in, week out. The answer normally involves the Canon 400D/20D/30D/40D or the Nikon D40/D80/D200.

I was wondering if this could be helped by a wiki thread or similar? With information regarding what camera for what budget, and what model suits the particular use, recommended lenses and the ones to stay away from no matter how good a deal.
Maybe a section on Motorsport photography, Macro, Studio, Landscapes etc... with tips and tricks.

To help solve questions like the formentioned 'What first DSLR?'.

Now I know this particular photography section is located within a automotive site, but people don't just display automotive pictures on here and thus I thought it could be a good idea.

So and phrase for the idea or shooting me down posts are welcome on the matter

So any takers on the idea?

I think most of the specialist fora need an faq wiki stickied TBH.
