Journalism? A picture needs to tell a story, if you can't tell what the story is then it's hardly great photo journalism never mind "best". Some lovely pictures though, but what's the context for half of them?

My verdict - nice pictures, rubbish website.

By the way - the first one is from 2002...

Yeah, i was just trying out my new "stumble" button with firefox and it brought up something which i was too quick to share. The first picture i found the most effective.

I wasn't having a pop at you James, just the site you posted. If you found the pic interesting you should read the wiki page which has links to videos - one of which is taken from mere meters away and is a real shocker. Scary stuff.

Jesus - that plane looks pretty huge in relation to those people, I can only assume it was rather close frown

Strangely I liked the one with the sheep too; must have spent too long in Wales.

That SU27 looks like it's beyond the twin-prop cargo plane, but then the people look about the right size for them to be at the impact point of the aircraft.

Is that real? Really not getting on with the depth of where things are...

Some interesting images in there though, the cooling tower one could do with fluffy white sheep, they look a bit mucky smile

84 people died. jesus

ETA agree that half of them are hardly journalistic photos. The baby / butterfly would be OK in a parents album, but thats about it. I've got a similar one of my litle-un balling her eyes out with a monkey sitting on her head, but I'd never post it to a journalistic contest.

Cripes!

Guess the narrow FOV is compressing it all in too, after more looking, making some things look bigger and smaller than they are relative to others!
