Going to get Mrs S500 a new camera, totally bewidered as what one to get, want something slim, needs to go in a handbag full of god knows what, good for indoor family snaps and easy to use but with enough options and good quality that I can enjoy using it myself, prepared to pay up to £200 ish...any ideas?

I'm going to buy a Panasonic DMC-FX55 in the US next month.

Smaller than an IXUS.

Canon Ixus 70.

I've just bought one for MrsR to meet the exact same criteria (handbag sized, good point and shoot capability, ease of use) and it is great.
There are no manual or priority modes but then you dont really want those if its for point and click use.

Best bit about it is that it uses proper a Lithium battery pack and not AA/AAA's.

Panasonic FX33 the one thats advertised on the telly, Panasonic cameras are very well built even at this price point, they were voted most reliable camera brand by which magazine. Oh and also have a Lieca lens and 28mm wide angle. I'm just about to buy one.
