Being a detailer, the final pictures I post in detail write ups on the car care forums usually aim for a demonstration of clarity and sharpness in reflections, and gloss achieved.
I thought I'd share some, a lot of hard hours went into some of these cars. here's a slideshow, I didn't want to resize them, as they have links elswhere. Any tips from the more experienced snappers appreciated.

A halogen light is used when the sun isn't available to highlight swirls and other fine scratching, and to prove removal. I caught some birds in this one, and for some reason I really like it -
