Photoshop incarnations
Discussion
I have to say that I am still plodding along with Photoshop 7, which doesn't support processing of my 40D RAW files, so I've been thinking of upgrading.
However I now discover that there is something called Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS3 available, and I'm confused. Which is the natural successor to Photoshop 7, or is there not much to choose between either of the new products?

The natural successor to PS7 was CS, then CS2 and now CS3. I went from PS7 to CS3 and it's whole new ballgame. At the same time as upgrading I bought the book "Adobe Photoshop CS3 for photographers" by Martin Evening. Boy am I glad I did!

Go with Photoshop Elements 6 - it has more than you'll ever need, and costs about £69.
The full CS at £400 odd is for the professional image makers or real hard core enthusiasts!
An official (from Adobe.com) upgade from PS7 to CS3 cost me £169 if I remember correctly...The full CS at £400 odd is for the professional image makers or real hard core enthusiasts!
