Joined the DSLR set

Hi been lurking and learning for some time, but have now taken the plunge before the Canon cashback ends. A 400D with kit Lens + a 70-300 IS for the motor sport pics. here's a snap of Exmouth today as I tested the Zoom out.

the shot's a bit dark, but you made a good choice in camera Next you'll be buying a 40D

Looks alright to me just a dull winters day. Please explain as i am also new to DSLR photography.

It was a bright and sunny day down ere @ Exmouth and even on Flickr it looked brighter,so not sure where its gone darker.
Anyawy very pleased with the Camera and joined Flickr + Piston head group.

light conditions > crappy laptop monitor = dark looking photo.

Viewing it on a proper monitor now and all looks well
