nikon to pentak lens adapter

As the title suggest.
I have a colleague who has an old nikon slr, he wants to upgrade/change to, possibly, a pentax Dslr.
is there an adapter available for this application so that he can use his old lens's?
I think i swayed him with some of the pics that have been taken on my K100D.
I know its only an entry level camera, but im well happy with the results, and he obviously is too!

If they are old screw drive AF lenses he needs to buy reasonably far up the model range to have the autofocus work. Not 100% sure, but think d80 is cheapest model with the mechanism still, although it may actually be the d200.
Are his lenses good enough to influence his choice that much?

Dan is right that the first model with non AF-S support is the D80. The D40 and D40X would still work with the non AF-S lenses but they would need to be focused manually. That shouldn't be too much of a problem if he is used to manual focus anyway. Are his lenses good enough to influence his choice that much?
Also a kit would have at least 1 lens anyway so that could take the place of 1 or 2 of his lenses?
I can understand his feelings but the truth is that any DSLR of a similar level will be able to do the same as yours. So if he stays with Nikon he won't need any adaptors, which is a horrible route best avoided. The amount of data going between body and lens these days can be remarkable, even if the mechanicals can be sorted.
Then he'll realise that his old lenses appear 50% longer, so may not be so useful, and may not support all the new camera's capabilities. So the easiest and best answer, heartbreaking as it may seem, is to sell the old Nikon, sell the lenses, and start all over again with shiny new stuff that meets his needs and it will all work properly
