Closest Forum for this topic so I hope someone can help.

Having a new telescope for Christmas, does anyone have any good tips, I can imagine it's more difficult than "point and shoot". Getting Meade DS2090 refractor.

Your post whetted my appetite, I 've been thinking of getting a telescope for years and bought one of these yesterday http://www.uk-telescopes.co.uk/meade_etx125pe.htm .
Fortunately my local dealer had one in stock at the best internet price I could find.
Just hoping Xmas night is clear!

Got a good couple of hours on christmas night before the clouds passed over. Got good view of moon, and I think Saturn but not 100% sure as that was later on (was in the east about 2:30am, seemed to be approximately where the ecliptic shoiuld be). Hoping for a good clear night on Saturday acccording to BBC weather.
