heres my attempt. I'm quite pleased seeing as i've only had a camera about a week and i'm learning what 'aperture' and 'exposure' mean!!!!

I rather like slinky's personally
Don't get me wrong, I like it, I just think it would work better in colour. Maybe Slinky could post a colour version so we could see.

Knick, you're damn right.. when you can just sit and tinker and change settings without the pressure of capturing the right image... I love it..

its easy if you want to have a go, you need it to be low light or dark in the area yo are shooting the picture, to enhance the light you are using,
set your camera for a long exposure or slow shutter setting,
put it on safe surface or use a tripod to keep it steady,
use a timer or remote contol so you can position yourself in front of the lens(if you do not have an assistant, i rarly have one),
then get a light source, ie a torch or preferably an LED, the more LED colured lights improve the effect, (i started by using the Kidz toys with lights)
then move the light around while the shutter is open on the camera, to produce cool light trails and effects, faster movement on large area is how i started and moved on trying to write,
then you are away it can be hit and miss but eventually you will get cool results you will be happy with.
have a go,
Good Luck.

I'd was just about to ask how it was done also so thanks set your camera for a long exposure or slow shutter setting,
