A friend of mine has a canon eos 3000 (she couldnt be more specific) and she is considering selling it and upgrading to a 400d. She would like to know how much it is worth though, it is in mint condition and not used alot so how much could she expect to get for it?

Cheers
Dan

The blunt answer is...probably not a lot.

You can buy a new EOS 3000V for less than £100.

If she got £20 on ebay, she would be doing well.
Might as well keep it and use it for black and white film or a back up.

Depends on what lenses she has to sell with it.

About a year ago I bought a Canon A1 film body with a 50mm 1.8 for 25 quid. However, I also bought an 85mm f/1.2 L lens with it for 150 quid. It's a great lens biggrin

She'd be daft to sell any decent lenses with it tho, considering she's getting abother EF body...

I've 2 decent canon film bodies in a draw, just not worth the postage.

Ive been looking at picking up a cheap film SLR, But when you factor in processing it doesnt seem cheap anymore, Does anyone still use film and could comment on its practicalities?

I've been mucking about with slide film with that aforementioned A1. Processing a roll of 36 of that, and scanning the lot to TIFF at source costs about 12 quid a pop.

So no, not cheap. I do enjoy it though and it forces me to be absolutely sure I'm happy with everything when I hit the shutter.

As a result, some of my best photos have come from that camera.

I only use one or two rolls a month, if that.
