PS won't save as j-peg

If it wont save as a Jpeg, i only know of one reason. The Bit level of the file. If you go Image - Mode... at the bottom should be 32, 16, 8 bits. To save as a jpeg it must be in the 8 Bit format. If your uploading RAW files into PS, i think you will need to change this Bit rate also, before saving to jpeg.

Jo, I can't e-mail .tiff files with my hotmail account...that's why I want to convert it to .j-peg.blondemoment said:

Someone asked me to send a big copy of my leopard pic in this months comp Martin.

So when you say "won't save as a Jpeg" - do you mean that you don't have Jpeg as a choice in the drop down box on the "save as" window?
Or do you have the choice, but it just doesn't save it?
(And have you tried a range of other images?)

Well, using reverse logic, produce yourself a 16- or 32- bit file and see if it acts the same - i.e. you can't save as a Jpeg.Are you having other, maybe even unrelated, PS problems? I'm never confident that, for example, plug-ins and imported actions won't have potential problems for PS.
