Watched this for the first time yesterday, really enjoyed it. Personally i prefered the photos set in the library. But i spose that not all people like the same photos and subjects. I do think that the winning pictures, were of a very brave subject, and you could feel the emotion in the pictures. But they just wouldn't be something i would have on the walls in my house, whereas the library ones. I could see those on walls. Again just my prefrence. I can't belived i only caught this episode, i really wish i'd caught the others.

Careful if you're thinking of submitting pictures to Picturethis..

T&C's say..

You now grant Channel 4 (and third parties authorised by Channel 4) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence (for the full period of any rights in the photographs and/or any other content submitted by you) to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, make derivative works from, edit, alter, store, re-format, exploit and sub-licence your photographs and/or other content submitted by you for such purposes.

I agree, i thought the other person should have won, her pictures were much better, technically they looked so much better and she appeared to be a better photographer.
I understood the level of emotion in the other ones but that was a very personal project and how does she follow that up with the same level of dedication in another subject?

I thought the best bit was last week and that lad who had some experience of documentary photography was cocksure he'd get through to the final, and was subsequently dumped out. Touch too complacent methinks.

Just watched this very interesting.

Alot was made out of the opportunity to have a gallery show and cash in on the publicity. It's rather strange then that Lizzy hasn't updated her website with any of the shots from the show or even mentioned the exibition. The show was filmed in the middle of last year so there has been plenty of time to do it.

Also note that she has in fact had a small gallery show before.

Edward Thompson has some great stuff from the show on his website...

...interesting to read that he took time out to go back to the estate to give the family he shot some photos. Some of his American shots are great too.

Lucina's website is very low key about the show....

Aron Brown does not appear to have a website so has also missed a trick.

I didn't watch the first episode so didn't bother looking up the other two.

I only saw the last one where the 2 girls were competing. To be honest, none of there pictures did anything for me and I wouldn't want them. I know you have to see them in the flesh to really get the feel. I think Liz did miss the most powerful ones out when it came to her judging and has now learnt that but her follow on using shoes....... I'll be interested to see where she goes from here as she can't run with the drink thing forever. I hope they repeat the series as I would like to see some of the earlier ones, they showed a series of prints right at the end of the last show, where these from other photographers?

I often wonder why there are so few photographic programmes on telly when it is such a popular hobby now.
