Free photo merging software....anyone recommend some?

Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any free to download software that lets you stitch together multiple photos?

It's a set of shots that make up a panoramic view over lake como, and I wanted to create a nice pano-shot that I can have printed and framed.

Any ideas chaps?

I've got a cannon EOS 400d, but I couldn't see a way of doing this using the software that came with it?

Oh it might be then. I just couldn't find it in the photo editing software. It's a new camera so I as a tad suprised I couldn't stitch pics together. I'll double check.

My canon also came with Photoshop elements free which has a photomerge option in it and works well.

Hugin is pretty good...
