I have a 50mm prime lens which is nice, anyone know of a fixed reasonably wide lens I can buy with a wide aperture? For a Canon 20D.

Sigma 30mm is under £250 and not a bad lens. Or go zoom. I've got the Sigma 15-30mm and it's really good and again under £250.

How wide? The sigma 30mmm f1.4 HSM is very nice but works out to a standard ~50mm focal length after the crop factor.

Thats a bit tight tbh. I've had a look around and wide prime lenses tend to be mahoosively expensive.

Bah. Maybe I'll save up. But that means less money for a TVR.

recently got a Canon 35mm f2 for £120 from the US. Not ultra fast but pretty good. Might be an option for you? (I think it's around £180 here).

I have a 20mm 2.8 Canon, and it's pretty good for a not-hugely-expensive wide lens.
