A new lens for a Canon D400

[_Deano]

I'm new to the whole DSLR world, just bought a Canon D400, so i am always on the look out for hints and tips.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to a website that is aimed at beginners so that i can start to learn more about it?

At the moment i am looking for a lens that will allow me to see further in the distance and for another lens that will allow me to see a wider angle.

thanks
Dean

Im in the same boat, New to SLRs with a 400D with 18-55mm kit

Once i get my cash back im probably going to get the canon 50mm as im more intrested in portrait stuff primararly.

I also think il get a 70-300mm lens of somekind as a general telephoto lense.

I think that will cover my immediate needs

A few links i use for info

That's the lens that i have. Is it the standard lens that comes with the body?
Thanks for the links, will take a look now.

This is a good site here which is specific to Canon and has thousands of members.

The guys are all very friendly and offer excellent advice in all aspects of mainly (but not only) Canon photography

Definitely worth a look around
