Unfortunately not shot in RAW - was running out of memory that day. Wondering which to include in our holiday album - C&C please!

Thanks,

Martin.

I prefer the first one as a photograph but I think the second one would make a better holiday album memory.

The first one has the 'arty' feel and captured the blue of the sky but i think there is so much detail lost in the building so it would be 2 for me.

2) for me yes

1) looks a bit much like it happened by mistake IMO - not suggesting it was but I don't think the foreground is strong/sharp enough to make up for having so much of the frame out of focus.

^^ btw wasnt saying no1 is a bad shot...

IMO mebe you can try replacing the blown out sky in No2 with something nicer, should be a reasonably easy ps job.

see thats what i hate, "replacing the sky" i hope you don't mean a new sky from google images or something similar. Would be a totally inaccurate representation of the holiday, surely?

I know what you mean - I was trying to reduce the depth of field to focus solely on the robe, but there is a lot of temple in the pic, and I can't work out why it came out a little soft.

The difficulty with #2 was trying to expose for both robe and sky at the same time, while avoiding glare (sun was low to the upper-left - two of the shots have a hand vignetting the top-corner! hehe)

So to me both are 'nearly' shots...which is a shame as I think (for once) I got the composition right.

Cheers all,

Martin.

PS...and I'm not good enough to PS a new sky in to that sort of shape!

In a holiday album wouldn't you rather have the temple in focus? So number two for me.
