Clearly that will depend on how good your scanner is.slides to digital?
I have a Nikon slider/neg scanner (Coolscan 500, or something like that) and it produces reasonably decent scans resulting in an image approx. 3000x2000 pixels and 3MB (though in fact that may not be the max. quality settings).
I'm sure a top notch professional scanner will do much better.

I also want to do some A1 size enlargements from the digital images, possible?

A few years ago I bought a film scanner, mainly to scan xpan transparencies, but I also went through all my fathers slides from the 60's. I have just checked and one of my favourite slides came out at 94meg. slides to digital?

As an aside, running a medium format negative through it at high resolution gave a file of over 500meg
