First attempt at night shots

Got my new camera a fortnight ago and took some night shots of the car last week near a power station - what you think? Where could I improve etc? It's a Canon Ixus 950IS so has an extent of manual ability.

I think the top of the car could do with a bit more light on it?

I quite like the basic composition but it feels like the car doesn't quite stand out enough; there's quite a lot of distraction, for example the rubbish on the road and the grass, the spotlamps and trees in the background and the shadows coming from the right. Also, I agree with Greendubber's comment.

I think this is probably one of the few times when HDR would come in to it's own...
