Its my Mums 50th coming up. She has recently got back to her photography, and is churning out some really good pictures. Im thinking about getting her a digital photo frame so that she can show off all her photos without to much hassle. Am I right in thinking that I could buy her a biggish (ie 1 or 2 gig) memory card which she can just put all her photos on then plug it into the back of the frame?

Does anyone have any experience with these things and can they make any reccomendations as to which one to go for?

Ive been doing a bit of research, but Im not very techinically minded, and the guys in Dixons down the road werent very helpful...

Cheers in advance

I picked up the above mentioned Kodak Easyshare EX1011 in the airport after visiting the folks at Easter. Very pleased with it, much better than the one I bought for them at Christmas (Transcend T710). The integration with Kodak gallery internet site is very useful - my old man just posts his images online and they appear on my frame smile

My main gripe (and which applies to all frames I guess) is how portait vs. landscape images look. Depending which way you hang the frame, one or the other will be displayed at less than optimum size. Not a major problem, but unless you want to modify each image to resize, crop and make a perfect fit I guess we need perfectly square panels...

See that bit is a bit beyond me, but my Mum is trained in Photoshop and all that stuff for her job, so I'm sure she could muster up something. I just want to get her a good quality one that is relatively easy to use and is going to last. Ive seen a few cheepy ones around, but they just look tacky. Thanks for the info so far, Im going to check out that Kodak one, it look pretty good so far..
