Playing a bit more with HDR

Just having a play with the settings, ended up with these two i quite look. Ended up with a thorn in my face to take the second one.

I like the first one, but in my opinion the second one is way to cluttered.

Nice composition in the first, although they both look very washed out IMO. I usually find this happens with Photomatix, so use LR to bring a bit of contrast back into the image. Also, the row of flowers in the first are 3 different shades, separated by the fence post and tree branch - Not sure if it actually looked like this, but again, I find that Photomatix will struggle to cope with abrupt lines across an otherwise "empty" area.

It looks to me as if the flowers on the right are in bright sunshine, the middle in partial shade and on the left in shadow.

Unless it's too early for my sleepy eyes!

Think you are spot on with the comments guys... cheers.

I edited them after 16 hours inside a hospital so went a bit mad with the settings, will have a re-jig later on

I hate HDR as everytime I go out shooting I think "I'll use HDR to make this pretty" instead of working on the basics of a good photo.

And even then my HDR images come out rubbish.



I'm going to NY shooting and I must keep reminding myself no HDR!!
