Nice lighting, not sure about the pose, it looks like she is in labour.

Only thing I'd change is too get some brick detail behind her legs...that left hand side is just too much blank/black space for me. (Says the bloke who's never done a studio shot in his life rolleyes) Good work Ross..always nice to see your stuff smile

Nice work! Is this your own studio or one you hire? I'm finding my home studio rather boring now as all it turns out is typical studio type shots with no real interest - plus the small size is limiting.

Thanks for sharing the light set up too! So back to the original question, your studio or a hired one?

Again, nice work - yours, jealous of Swindon

ETA another question, the grid, what exactly is it?

hired.

the grid is just a honeycomb that sits over the light which reduces spill so it makes for a more direct light.

Cool, I'll look into one! I've seen a few in this studio before from you on flickr, I really like the brick work/floor. When I did my studio I decided against the flow and kept the woodwork visible and it really works to break things up.

Out of interest, how do you go about getting the models as I really am struggling. I get people in for "shots" but nothing I genuinely enjoy going back to.

Just one shot in 30 mins or have you more?

Personally found honeycombs too harsh for my taste - for directional light I still prefer to use a diffuser with barn doors. If it's your first time, you're going in the right direction!

honeycomb is attached to a soft box so the light is perfectly soft and its not my first time frown

I did some painting with light but the model could not keep still.

there are only 4 shots, 3 variations on the above and a try at some side lighting which never really worked too well lol not done art nude a whole lot so this is really my experiment with light stage

it was £35 for an hour including studio time, normally I get models on TF* but there are not many that would do art nude for nothing.

I'd like to do some nice and tasteful photos of my fiancee, I am too poor to afford to hire a studio, both her and my bedroom lights are too yellow to do anything in there too! I asked the lady in Boots about developing them and she said as long as they don't show pubic hair or penetration or anything classed as pornographic they'd do them for me! lol!
