Sorry if this has been covered before but I had a quick search and couldn't find anything.

What are people using to tag and manage their photo? I find the latest version of windows live photo gallery surprisingly good and have even used the 'fix' function a couple of times for simple tasks as it's a lot easier to use than photoshop and is totally non destructive (IE you can completely revert the image back to the original.) The automatic integration with flickr is a huge bonus.

I've not quite got RAW editing working yet on my PC, what are people using for canon raw? Photoshop doesn't seem to want to open them even though I have the correct codec installed.

Aperture and Lightroom - I use them together as although both excellent, they each have strengths and weaknesses...

You can have them reference the same library, and as keywords etc are stored as Metadata, shifting from one to the other is seamless...

Even though I shoot alot of film, I store low-res (20MB) scans in my library with the roll-number as metadata - probably the most efficient filing system possible...

Picassa, free, integrates with web, nondestructive edits on raw's , tags, albums etc, does everything I need it to.

Aperture (Mac only).
Just upgraded to Aperture 2.
As with all Apple stuff, it looks fabulous and 'just works'.
Check minimum system requirements though.

I used to use Picasa, but I now use Lightroom as it's better at cataloguing my photos, and the editing part of it is plenty powerful enough for most photos, meaning I now only need to use the one program.
