stock photo sites
Discussion
I am looking from a different point of view here:
what are the best stock photography sites for choice, quality, value for money, from a purchaser's point of view?
I occasionally need to buy some when I can't take good shots, or just look for creativity that will inspire a project, so I look.
I use www.sxc.hu, istock, dreamstime looks good too.
Anyothers? Are there another good free sites?

Shutterstock, Fotolia, Bigstockphoto, 123 RoyaltyFree (123rf) and Stockxpert are other big players. If you're just an occasional buyer, Shutterstock would be of limited value for you, because it's a subscription site. Good for getting ideas though, with about 3 million images on-line.
All supply Royalty-Free images from about $1.00 upwards, depending on size and licensing arrangements. If you fancy submitting some shots, you can earn a few dollars "pocket money" too. I have between 150 and 300 shots on these sites and it earns me a couple of hundred dollars a month. This is just a hobby for me, but it keeps me in decent glass!

I'd second this recommendation it's also handy that there's a counter provided against each image so that you know how many times it's been downloaded by "others" can be useful way of avoiding visual cliches. They have a pretty good range of vector art as well which can come in useful.
