I am very happy with my oldish Panasonic FX9 - does most of what I need. I have thought about going to a DSLR. BU fancy keeping the camera quite small and easy to carry (that way I am more likely to use it smile )

I would like to play with some long exposure shots (light trails etc), perhaps getting pics in RAW format.

Do I need to move to a DSLR or is there a compact out there that does the job ? I can't seem to find one with that sort of spec.

Cheers

Fuji S series are great..... s5600 upwards and the 9500 is probably better than my 350d, your stuck with the one lens tho, but i think its a 28-200mm equivelent.

I have a Canon G9. My requirements were similar to yours. Small enough to take with me so I actually use it, but fairly flexible given its size. Overall I've been very happy with it.

Here are a few examples for you. Obviously the first picture has had a bit of work done on it.
