help with camcorder for a novice

Hi All, I am a total novice with anything technical as this post will show. I have a sony DVD105E and I have been using Sony and JVC DVD RW discs to record. The problem I have is that when I put them in the DVD drive of the laptop they will not read. It just says "no disc" I have finalized the discs I have used. I have Windows Media Centre, Lexmark Imaging and HP photosmart on the system (it came with the Media and HP). I also bought Movie Edit Pro 11, but havent loaded it yet.

Any help would be appreciated
