Wow, lots of great entries this this month, well done to everyone biggrin There were a few rouge entries that didn't match the theme so they were ruled out but there were some good shots in them so don't be put off entering (just get it on theme!).

The honorable mentions go to:

Very surreal shot of a fake sunset...

Great compsition and atmosphere, it may be intentional but some of the detail has been lost in the highlights or this could have been right up there...

The pacing of this is just right to convey the action...

In 3rd place, Scho, I guess this appeals to my love of all things retro but I also love the colours and dreamy look...

In 2nd place, Martin, great composotion, use of colour and technically brilliant as always...

And the winner is, Giles, love the depth, tone and colour and the abstract nature of the shot lets your eyes and mind wander...

In case anyone is interested the way I judged it was to download all the images from the entry thread into a folder and then reviewed all the photos. I didn't make a note of whos was whos (although a couple are obvious) picked the winning shots and then came back on to find out who shot what smile

I completely forgot to enter after all, but looking at the winning shots I'd not have placed with my selection, so no matter.

Some great shots there, and good choices by Nick!

Oh no, not again, sorry, but over the moon thanks Nick. It was worth getting burnt for now. I am really pleased as I'd taken a number of shots and was about to leave when I looked directly upwards and the spirals, they just seem to keep going and going. It was all pretty dark in there, and so had to use high ISO and low speed, so was pleased when it came out as I'd wanted it to.

Anyway thanks again and well done to all the others - Scho I really like yours too, and Jenx your flutterby shots are just astounding.
