I'm looking to spend upto about £50 or £60 for a small pair of binoculars that I can take away walking etc. I saw a pair by Centon is Jessops 12x magnifaction for about £25. Is tehre much point in spending any more if I wont use them much or would I notice the difference?

Are there any particular models you folks would recommend in this price range?

I don't know much about binoculars, but I do know that Jessops is very expensive and that you could find them cheaper else where.

Go into Jessops by all means and touch/ use the product. But come home and buy it online and save a packet smile

7DayShop is always a good shout. They are doing some 10x25's for £5.99 at the moment. I had a pair of 12x50's off them a couple of years ago for £11.95 and they're great.

I can't believe that a man who drives a Ford GT only spends £11.95 on binoculars!!

Yeah but they seem to make things look closer ok, and at that price I don't have to think about them smile. And amazingly optically they're not bad at all. Ok, taking a picture through them would produce some 'interesting' results (but still orders of magnitude better than one of those Hogla things hehe), but you don't, so that's alright then!
