Chaps,

Have asked this on the computers forum but thought I may try here as hopefully some of you may know. Is there a good way of getting screen shots so they they can be printed out? I take it they have to be 300dpi for print ( the whole dpi business is driving me mad! ) in which case when you print screen it only seems to be 72dpi and hence turns into a tiny image.

How do big publishers do it - i just want what i see on screen to be printed out but is driving me nuts!

Thanks

Don

Do you mean a screen capture?

Just ALT-PRTSC, start Paint up and Paste it in. The world is your oyster from there are to resizing, scaling and printing.

i have tried just simple alt-prtsc and put it in both serif and fireworks but this only takes it at 72dpi - when i then try and resize it to 300dpi it shrinks to an usuable size?

A screen shot will only ever have as many pixels as are on your screen, so if you have a screen that is 1024 pixels wide, a screenshot will be 1042/300=3.41 inches wide when printed at 300dpi.

If you load the screenshot into Photoshop (or any similar program), you can resample it up to whatever pixel density you want.

no i need for example a pic of our intranet. also i have some stuff in powerpoint that would be easier to just screen shot + a couple of web pages which although are not mine are fine to use as im promoting them eg childnet site
