Any recommendations on quick release camera straps? I'm sure there must be some around. At times I'd like the convenience of the strap to carry the camera, but when using it for a substantial period I'd like to be able to lose the strap quickly. Any advice is welcomed.

Have a look for Optech straps, they have quick release portions leaving shorter bits still attached to the camera. I have one and it's a great, as I hate having a strap on all the time.

OpTech for me too. I've been using one for years. Only downside in hot countries is that they tend to act like a sponge and soak up the sweat rolleyes

Thirded for Op Tech, very good quality. Mine have lasted for a good few years and do make carrying a bulky / weighty machine much easier.

Lowe Pro also do a smilar type product but have not used theirs so can't recommend / warn you of it specifically.
