Quiet day at work this morning, so started rooting through the drawers, and found a Jessop's catalogue. Hmmm, I thought, lets see what I can treat myself to next. It's only when I spotted a 4GB Sandisk Extreme III CF card for £399.99, that I twigged the catalogue might be a bit out of date.

Is that how much CF cards were 3 or 4 years ago? Bl00dy hell! yikes

When Helen got me a Nikon 880 a few years ago I splashed out on a 64MB card that was cheep at £110. It still works. I can't quite fit 3 pictures from the 1DS3 on it hehe

Talking of 1992, my PC had the extra 1 Mb of RAM required to run Windows - it was £100 extra.

At £100 per Mb that makes my current 500GB HD worth half a million pounds.

I'll take £450K biggrin

They were quite cheap. The Panasonic optical disks we had when I was studenting around 1990 were £120!

Well............................................
I remember going to the Commodore shows at Earls Court in the late 80's and we were chuffed to find 3.5" floppies ( 1.44mb ) at £1 each !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
( I know technically this should be in the computers and stuff section ! )

I see your pricey flash cards and raise you a DEC PDP-11 from the late '70's.

This little beauty (to the right of the printer) had 3.3MHz Processor and 4MB of memory.

A 32KB Core Memory board for one of these babies was a cool $3000

No exciting photography prices, as I haven't been doing it for that long, but if you want to talk computers, the computer dept at Plymouth Poly had their first 1k of memory back in 19 blah blah... It arrived on the back of a lorry and was £25,000. 1k!

Ahem, that's a teleprinter, i.e. it's got a keyboard. You could use it as a terminal, thus getting a print out of every command/response. Takes me back smile
