A J Purdy & Co
Discussion
Just wanted to stick a thread on here as a big thumbs up to them ( http://www.ajpurdy.co.uk/ ) ordered an EOS 40D from there at a bargain price (I bought it with the 18-55, because of the bundle it came with; although the lens isn't as bad as I expected!
).
Prompt delivery (I ordered on the phone), painless and a fantastic price!
If you're on the look out for a 40D, you'd be hard pushed to beat them price wise; I looked around a lot before I bought mine and I couldn't find anywhere cheaper.

I've used them before and I'd definitely recommend them.
Maybe not, but after the maximum time they tell you it is going to be elapses by a fair while, you'd expect they'd let you know....Beyond Rational said:
I ordered a 40d in june from them and it took over three weeks for them to get one in stock.
Sorry that you had to wait for ages but it probably wasn't their fault?just adding some balance...other than the delay, they were great, shame I wasn't in the country when the camera was delivered

They're as good a dealer as it gets I reckon. I have had mixed experiences when a product has been recently announced: a few years ago I cancelled my order for Nikon D2X as it went on for months though that was a camera with a supply problem.
Other times I have paid for (example) a camera and new lens combination and if the lens was not in stock, they've posted it as soon as they've got it in and free of charge too.
They seem to be genuine enthusiasts there.

Bought my first DSLR, a 450D from them this week. I work a few miles from their new premises, so visited rather than got delivery. Friendly chap served me. Told him it was my first jump into 'serious' photography, and made me feel welcome to call them if I ever needed any advice, etc.
They've good prices too, so will be using them when I need.
Is their new showroom open yet? I visited a few weeks ago when they were working on the place and putting display cabinets in place...They've good prices too, so will be using them when I need.
