I have for the past few years used imageshack for photo hosting, but it appears to be a bit tempremental at the moment... times out while uploading confused
Anyhow, had a quick look at flickr and photobucket, just wondered which of those to go with, or if there are any other suggestions of better places? scratchchin
I'm not really worried about backing photos up, I just want somewhere to host them while posting on here or whatever. smile

I have to say that I prefer Flickr to Photobucket.

Flickr enable you to manage the privacy of photos better and also link to different sized pics

Photobucket I'v always viewed as a "quick'n'dirty" solution to getting a pic online to link to a posting here.

I suppose I'll sum up with:

Flickr = good community & forums and excellent reliability and very easy to integrate (I have the Flickr uploader from Picasa for bulk uploads) and ability to link to different sized photos easily

Photobucket = free solution for the odd single pic to link to from a forum (but bear in mind that all your images are searchable as a BMW driving young lady found out here to her cost wink)

HTH (if I have)

How about photobox? I imagine you could link individual pics to a forum but its not something I've tried.

You can also sell your pics from there, if you wanted, or print them for yourself.

I set myself up with the google/Picassa web album through Picassa, which I have have found okay but the images diaplayed are pretty small, and I can't seem to post the images on here. Not sure if it is just not compatible or if I'm doing something wrong?

Sadly - linking to pics on Photobox always seems to end up with a dead link.

You are doing it fine... it's the same problem as photobox... you are linking to a page, not an image.

ETA - all you can do is post as a link for people to click on

ie: http://picasaweb.google.com/Will.Lowes.Pics/WSBBra...

Right click on the pic >properties > and copy all the address URL info. It goes onto 3 lines and think you are only copying the first two lines.
