Just thought id ask you lot about insurance. How much for a years international insurance on a 40D would you say? Iv'e never insured anything in my life, considering im not driving yet etc and im going on a gap year to australia so insuring my kit is a priority. I was also wondering if you could give me the names of some reputable insurers?

Would it be possible to see if you can add it as an extension to your mum & dad's house insurance? That might be the cheapest way whilst you are still in the UK and there might be worldwide coverage as part of that. You'd have to carefully check the wording as they may view gap year travelling as a bit more than "holiday" coverage.
