I've found a lens online which I'm seriously thinking of buy since it's one of the "secondary lenses" I'd like to buy.

It's a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L, however the chap who's selling it says it's broken. Apparently it was dropped and there is a rattling noise on the inside and there is a dent on the side of the lens on the filter ring as shown below.

I can probably pick it up for an absolute bargain however I'm wondering if I'm simply wasting my time with it?

How easy can I get it repaired and is it expensive. According to the chap, none of the glass is scratched and it moves nicely. It's also go no visible marks when looking through it, however he says he has no camera to test it with. (Sounds dodgy I know).

What do you chaps reckon???

But think of why he's selling it, if it wasn't dear to repair then he no doubt wouldn't have it up for grabs wink

Bear in mind that a friend who dropped his (albeit Nikon) 17-55 f2.8 lens the repair bill was very close to £400...

Not always a bargain these "fixer upper" lenses, as the final cost can't be predicted accurately, I'd say save up a bit and get a new one from Kerso wink
