Didn't take many, mostly just holiday snaps (yawn) as I was mainly driving and just used my friends crappy digital camera.

Some great shots there Matt. Looks a fantastic drive.

Nothing really. It's just overexposed for a high key kind of feel.

The stelvio thing is a complete myth IMO. The drive up it from the Bormio end is excellent. But the drive down the bit in the picture is pretty crap. There is too much traffic and the hairpins are too narrow and tight, and you can't see what's coming.

Sorry!

Fair point, but last time I did this and other alpine stuff was on two wheels - you can see (especially where you find sheer drops!!!) and traffic is nae problem smile

Agree about the Stelvio, its a beautiful road, and views are amazing from the top, to be honest traffics not too bad, or wasn't when i went. You have to do it for the experience, but it is NOT a great driving road.

errr, sure you said you were using your mates crappy digi cam, errrr, i can't even get pics looking that good with my Digital SLR. You, or your mate, have an awesome eye for framing a shot, some of those pics can only be described as beautiful - good work, and looks like you guys had a blast.

I think the Fluela is the best one I drove.

Looks like a fun trip, love the panning shot looking down on the 911

The "Crappy digital camera" was a 5D?

I did two trips up and down the Julierpass in early September, and it was lovely to drive, some real open twisty stuff, tight bends, great corners and impeccable behaviour from the Swiss motorists!

Need to make a proper driving holiday though, far too many to choose from if going for a weekend or so.

There are some great photos there in your flikr account, even if they were taken on a crappy digital camera hehe

I've just started to go through a few of my snaps and thought I'd post a few up - there's not much better than some spirited driving through some fantastic European roads cloud9

A bit of snow over the Sustenpass

The old St Gotthard pass

Tuscan in Tuscany

Just before a torrential downpour on the Col de Vence

Wish I was back in Europe now. Couldn't agree with you more mate. Bet the tuscan sounded insane in some of the tunnels!
