The sensor on my 30D is filthy, it needs a clean and I'm not up for sending it away, neither is there anywhere nearby (that I'm aware of) that'll do it while I wait.

Therefore, I'm going to have a (very careful) go myself. I've trawled previous posts and ruled out the Artic Butterfly on cost grounds. Any recommendations for what to buy and where from, in terms of swaps etc.?

Try a rocket blower first, it's all I've ever needed (so far).

There's still an offer on Arctic Butterfly products (til the end of the month) but it's still £119 or so so not exactly cheap. My sensor has needed a proper clean 3 times in the last 18 months or so @ £35 a go so it made sense for me to invest in the gear myself. I posted about the offer recently so your search may have found that already.

This website is definately worth a look:

www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com/index.html

Contains pretty much everything you would ever want to know about cleaning your sensor.

sorry just re-read and noticed the above.
i agree with DIW35, cotton bud and furniture polish, as you don't value the condition of your sensor too highly ?
