Maybe one of you guys can help. I have a wireless remote for my 450d. I had a Nikon D40 before this with a nikon wireless remote. On the canon I can't seem to find the option to take a photo immediately on pressing the wireless remote like I could with the Nikon. Is the 450d missing this option or am I overlooking something?

At the moment when I press the remote it has a default 2 sec delay before the shot is taken.

As usual, I can't find my manual which doesnt help.

Any help appreciated lads. smile

The one I have is a knock off of the Canon one. http://cgi.ebay.ie/Canon-RC-5-Remote-Controller-fo...

It only has one button, no options on what to do from the Remote. This leads me to believe there must be in the camera....just can't find it. I'd like to be able to take a shot immediatly with it rather than wait 2 seconds. smile

I have the Canon one so it may not be the same. But the switch for turning it on has 3 positions, off, on with immediate shutter release ann one with 2 second delay.

I don't think there is any remote control delay setting that you can alter in the camera.

The shutter release is a seperate button

www.7dayshop.com do a Canon compatible remote release that allows a two second delay or an immediate release. Works fine with my 400D. Cost £3.99 (no VAT). Is not wireless so must be used from roughly in front of the camera so that it can 'see' the camera's receiver.

With some Canon compact cameras will also operate the wide angle/telephoto control.
