Spent the weekend visiting friends who have recently moved to Queenstown, working my way through the files bit by bit.

Heres a selection from Saturday mornings shots, taken on my friends canon 40D with my sigma 70-200f2.8.

All these taken from the Coronet Peak ski field access road, with a blizzard heading in from the sought.

Lake Johnson with Wakatipu in the background:

Last one is 70mm @ f3.2 for a bit of a play, all I can say is I'm more than happy with the sigma's corner sharpness.. :

Gorgeous images! IMO would benefit from a bit of Levels tweaking to bring out the full richness, viz:

Yeah probably, the trouble was those are 40D shots my PS CS2 doesnt like, and I dont know what I'm doing with lightroom.

Rest of my shots are with mty 350d so will be much better with the processing in CS2.

Set 2 is from a trip to Deer Park heights where a number of LOTR scenes were filmed, the park is situated Right behind Kelvin heights were I was staying, its fairly verticle and TBH you can almost point a camera anywhere and get a decent shot.. Back to my 350D and photoshop too..

Alpacas & Cecil Peak:

Frankton arm of Lake Wakatipu :

How do you ad the black frames to the photos, is this in post-editing?

The full sized pano is about 14000x10000 or something!!! biggrin will try get a larger version online.

The black borders are added in photoshop using the canvas size increase method.
