Hi Guys
I am looking at buying a DSLR and think i will go for the 450D, seems a good starting camera.
The best price i can find is from Pixmania. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/735885/art/canon/e...
My question is....
Cannon do the 50 puunds cashback but it states in the t&c that the camera has to be bought from a UK supplier, Pixmainia head office is in France (i think). Has anyone bought a camera from Pix and claimed the cashback??
i know it sounds like i have answered my own question but Pix have an advert next to the camera advertising the cashback.
regards
Andy

I would suggest contacting Canon UK and asking. Alternatively there are other suppliers offering it at a similar price:

also worth giving your local Jessops a call and asking how close they can come in a price match. The managers do have some discretion.

I don't think it matters where the company is based, but more where they source their cameras from. I once bought from Amazon, who are a US owned compnay, but as I was buying from the UK arm there was no problem. If its a proper UK model then you would be fine, but if its a foreign grey import then they probably won't give you the cashback.

www.empiredirect.co.uk - 450D - £450 body only, £470 with 18-55 lens.
All Canon cameras sold by Empiredirect are UK sourced.
Extend warranty to 3 years for £30.

Bought my 400D from there in July 2007 and had no problem obtaining cash-back from Canon (in fact Canon sent it twice!).

Bought mine around a month ago, Currys were doing 10% off at the time and Jessops were happy to match, so I paid £432 including the kit lens and I got my cash back from Canon the other day.

I'd be suprised if Jessops won't knock something off to price match.

I phoned Jacobs up yesterday and they will match their on line price 451 pounds.
I will phone jessops tomorrow and see what they would do!

Or Grab someone going through an airport in the UK and get them to pick it up from Dixons tax free.

I did this and claimed the £50 cashback flying from Manchester home (Scotland) and got the IS kit deal for £357 by time I got cash back smile

I also bought a 450D through Amazon/Pixmania. The cashback to a while to come through. I'd forgotten all about it by the time the cheque came through.

Dixons Stores Group bought Pixmania a couple of years ago. Not sure if it makes a difference.
