Lens identification..
Discussion
I have acquired a Sigma lens which has the following markings:
70-300mm, 1:4 - 5.6, DL Macro Super
A small label with 2002437 on it
It's an autofocus, and also has a macro sliding switch.
How could I find out exactly what this fits, and if I could attach it somehow to a Sony Alpha mount? Or if it's even worth trying?

I think this is the lens you have:

This is a Sony fit one but from the details you have given I can't tell what the one you have is and I'm not sure you'd be able to. Have you tried fitting it on your Sony camera? I think the only way to find out for sure is to phone Sigma with the serial number.

The mount is independent of the info you posted. If you can take a photo of the rear end and post it, somebody here will be able to tell you. (It's probably either Canon or Nikon)
ETA: If it has a rear cap, are there any marking in it? For example generic caps for Nikons often have an 'N' on them.
