Chaps,

Heres the deal, I'm after a good photographer to take photos of 6 supercar day blast through the cotwalls. In return, you will get a ride in not 1 but 6 super cars on the day. And this is not some quick spin around the block job. You will be treated to a 200 mile blast through the cotwalls, on some of Oxford best A roads.

Cars
1) DBS (Manual)
2) 911 (997) Turbo (Manual)
3) R8 (R Tronic)
4) Gallado Spider (E Gear)
5) F430 Spider (F1)
6) Masserati GT (F1)
7) Bentley GT Continential

I am wanting to drive all 1-6 not too keen on the Bentley.

The perks for you, is that you get to have an amazing, peddle to the metal, bear knuckel ride, passanger ride in not 1, but all 6 cars that I'm in for the full 200 miles.

The day consists of breakfast and lunch. basicall 6 stints, each 30-40 miles each lasting 20-30 mins on awesome A roads.

Date 26th November
Location Oxfordshire

If your keen please email me back.

Cheers

Sorry guys, I'm looking for voluntary photographer, in return you get a 200 mile blast through the Cotswalls in 6 of the best supercars. I have promoised a petrol head, 6'0 Tall Blonde Model, DD, gorgeous and is very cleaver, she runs her own comp, as my passanger. But as its my birthday treat I would perfer to take a photographer to take pics so I've got some thing to remember the day. I suppose appart from the 6 car passenger ride, I pay for breakfast and lunch.

Here we go again...

I wonder which other trades suffer from this 'I want you to do stuff for me but I haven't got any money but you'll really enjoy it' syndrome? Plasterers? Dentists? Florists? Kitchen fitters? Perhaps the Jaguar dealer will service my car for free if I ask nicely. They'd have a fantastic time changing the oil, and the free cheese and pickle sandwich would be my way of saying 'Well done lads!'

ETA Sorry Wayne, nothing personal, but we do seem to get a lot of these 'something for nothing' types popping in. I'm sure you'll get a taker.

Does he mean the Cotswolds per chance.

Anyway, without a contract, what's to stop the photographer going along for the ride, and then charging for photos after the event? (If he wanted to be that unscrupulous.)

Money aside it would be difficult to get good shots of all 6 cars in a day while they were static (or bring posed for pan or rig shots). If the photographer will be in the back of car for 90% of the time you have the car it will be impossible to get anything other than snaps which I'm sure the OP or the blonde could manage.

Mate if your a profeshionl photographer or do this as your professhion, then thats not what I'm after. I'm looking for a buddying photographer, who does this in his spear time or as a hobby, to come along and is also a big petrol nut like myself.

Regarding some thing for nothing?? I cant see how a 200 mile blast in a supercar is some thing for nothing!! It not like I'm saying follow me in your car, heres a route, meet you at the next check point where you can happily snap away. I'll also throw in breakfast and lunch, so as the saying goes, nothing like a free lunch??

Already got 5 interested, photographers.

One last thing, I'll be up at the MPH Topgear Live show at Birmingham NEC, 13-16 Nov. If you fancy a free exhbit pass for the show, email me and I can get you one!!

Cheers

W

I'd be checking my life insurance biggrin Not sure I'd want to jump in various supercars with someone who may (or may not) have experience of driving these vehicles "peddle to the metal" hehe
Still, generally in this life, you get what you pay for wink

Isn't that the issue? No doubt it must be frustrating to be in a profession where people expect the service you sell to be given free, but isn't the reason they expect it because they often get it? If there were lots of people offering to service your car to a standard you were satisfied with for free, would you still pay?

The issue really is, generally people have low standards, don't know the possibilities of what a pro could do and are content with average photos taken by someone called colin with a dlsr and on camera flash.

Did i mention their tight as a ducks ahole aswell.

Everybody will be wanting to drive the cars all the time.
The only time to set up static shots will be when everyone is eating your complimentary lunch
When the cars are stationary, the drivers will have no idea as to how to set up a decent static. Wheels will be turned the wrong way, cars will be dirty, windows will be open and tax discs will be visible.
There will be no dedicated fast camera car to keep up with the convoy. You need an RS6 Avant or something for the tracking shots.
There will be inadequate radio hardware to coordinate car to car shots which means that you'll be expected to use your mobile all day
Plus a million other clusterfks that make excursions like this deeply unenjoyable from a professional perspective.
