Has anyone got one of these yet?

Thinking about getting one, as soon as the price comes down a bit.

The price after a £50 Panny cashback is already down to £450 for the 1 lens outfit.

If the EVF is really good I would be interested in one as well.

I had a play with one in Jessops yesterday and the EVF seemed very good.

All the reviews that mention it are good as well.

It would be my first non compact camera, so a bit torn between this and a dSLR.

I'm going the other way, so I would be comparing the EVF to my DSLR viewfinder .... I no longer want to carry a big camera around all the time but a compact is out of the question for me as I hate holding the little things out at arms length, peering at a relatively small screen.

I had a play with one in Jessops yesterday and the EVF flickered and fluttered under the flourescent
lighting in the shop, but it was very impressive when the camera was pointed outside or at a tungsten lit showcase.

The EVF behaviour under flourescents was a deal breaker for me ...... maybe they will do a Firmware fix?

Is this not the DSLR without an optical viewfinder? If so, then I was looking at these myself but decided againced for this simple fault. Also, very limited scope for lenses. Its mini (micro) four-thirds and so the normal 4:3 lenses dont quite fit. They do with an adapter but I read there is a downside to using them on the camera.

Buy an Olympus E-520 instead.

Or an E420 if you want the smallness. Had a play with a G1 recently, and the EVF is better than some I've seen, but is very obviously still an EVF...

A friend has just bought this camera, and I think I'll be getting one shortly.

It is a cracking bit of kit, The EVF viewfinder is SUPERB and the size and ease of use is something else.

For me the big feature is the Live shutter/aperture preview this allows you to see the effects of diffrent shutter/aperture speeds on the LCD/EVF before you take the picture. I'm not a pro so this feature is fantastic for me.

I also have a Panasonic LX2 which has been a great camera so I am comfortable with buying Panasonic product.

The Camera is micro 4/3rds format and you can use 4/3rds lenses via an adaptor with no Issues whatsoever. Also the lenses ara a lot smaller than with nico/cannon etc which again is attrictive to me as I dont want to carry huge kit about with me.

So for me size, ease of use are the main things and Panasonic seem to make a cracking product. Oh and you can get a twin lens kit Body-14-45mm lens and a 45-200mm lens, you get the 45-200mm lens for half price £749 with 3 year warranty.(With 4/3rd you x2 to get 35mm equivalent)

I think Panasonic are really pushing the boundaries with there compacts and now the G1.

What happens in the viewfinder when you have the camera on 'Continous',
say when you are panning taking a shot of a moving car?

It operates just like an optical viewfinder. I believe the Electronic viewfinder has about 1.4 million pixels so it is very high quality and and you get 100% of the image displayed on it.

This seems to be the only place that has it at that price.

I've reserved one - collecting it this evening on way home.#

Thanks for the link.

So how have you got on with it?
I've been debating getting a dslr for far too long and now this little sucker pops up to spoil the party, and I quite fancy the look of them. All the reviews I've seen so far have been positive.

... and should I be looking at this (Olympus E-P1) as an alternative?
