Ok so wife decides she wants a new camcorder for our little ones greatest moments over the next year.

Sets me tasks and budget of £200 but up to £300...

So I have been looking for two days and I am completely bewildered by the choice and options. The canons looked good (I have a 450d so thought might be worth a look) - but the model I am looking at has poor light performance.

Basically it needs to be easy to use and with good image quality since it will mostly be used indoors - anyone got any recommendations?

I had settled on the Sony DCR-SR55 but now I am not so sure....

Any help much appreciated as I have thrown in the towel!!

My wife got an SR55 earlier this year as a first camcorder. She loves it. Very easy to use and performance indoors and outdoors is pretty good.

+ 1 for the Sony. Don't, whatever you do, get a JVC........they are rubbish.
