I broke my camera , help
Discussion
My silly friend Ted put my nikon coolpix, which I bought for 99 pounds in PC world, between the seat and the transmission tunnel of my car. He had left it switched on so the lens was open and sticking out. I moved the seat back and bent the lens . Tried to push it back in and the camera now displays "lens error ". Is it a lost cause, if I bring it back to PC world will they be able to fix it econonically or might I have a go myself. Ted has offered to buy me a new one, but he 's a good pal and I wont let him.
Any ideas appreciated.

A point and shoot of mine got trodden on a couple of Christmases ago. It was uneconomical to repair and never worked again. Picked up an identical replacement up on eBay for a fraction of the original's price.
ETA - that was a lens/ zoom/ motor issue

I have a casio that had a similar fate in the first couple of days of ownership. I managed to not so gentily move the lens back into position and has now worked for a year. I have notheard of others being so lucky though and would not recomend trying it until you have accepted it as a lost cause then the only way is up.
