Yea, but will I sell any more? I sell at 30" x 20" already... who wants bigger than that?

You have said in the past that your excellent photography got better and better as you moved up the scale on camera specs. "My move from D1 to D2 made a huge improvement in quality, colour, battery life etc. My move from D2 to D3 has done the same in equal measure. It's just astonishing how new tech improves the raw result. I rarely have to do anything other than crop in PS with the D3 - the results from the camera are that good.. the latest Nikon tech brings a raft of upgrades, not just the headline stuff..

I suspect you will have one of these well before the end of 2009.smile

No. Probably a very few studios - not your market, Steve.

Yes, it looks like the "X" is here - in the sense it has been rumoured by so many for so long and all we need is a Nikon delivery date. But it won't do any better than the D3 for printing purposes alone.

If you need any convincing, read the expert on this at:

But lend me the money and I'll test it out for you....

I'm not in the market for a D3x... at all. D700 suits me fine - ignoring financial reasons!

But it was cool to read about it in my ('scoop') copy of Nikon Pro that came through the letterbox this morning - before any official announcement cool Couldn't believe my eyes when I flicked to page 6!!

No doubt the magazine shippers will get a wee knuckle-rap for early deliveries....

I read a review of the Sony Alpha 900, which could well have the same chip - the conclusion was that it wasn't too clever over ISO800. So unless Nikon have worked some miracle, the old pixel size vs noise trade-off strikes again. Depend what you want I suppose, resolution or high ISO performance.

Five thousand five hundred of your average British Squids.

According to a bloke, what knows a bloke, what were in Grey's yesterday and has posted up on Nikonians.

They'll do a roaring trade.

Assuming your definition of "Roaring Trade" is the noise from all the customers screaming "How Much!!!!?£$%^&*%$£$%^!!!"
rolleyes

The 1Ds 3 initially started at £6k, and is now down to approx £4,400, so I'd expect the Nikon to do similar.

I expected it to be somewhat cheaper due to the Sony A900 (£1,700). Supposedly the X uses the same sensor?
