Hey guys,

First off let me say I know nothing about cameras, that's why I'm here smile Googling won't help because I don't know what the specifics mean...

Basically, I'm looking for a camera in the region of £100, give or take a little. I'm primarily wanting the camera to chronical my days and (mostly) nights out; this means it needs to be small enough I can fit it in my pocket without damaging it as I can't carry around a little case or backpack when I'm on a night out. Hopefully it can negate any drunkeness such as blurry/shakey photography. It should have a good flash or some sort of technology that I can take pictures inside dark places (clubs) without waking up to find 100 pictures of the dark. I'd like a digital display to check photos as they're taken, and (although I'm sure this must be standard in this day and age?) USB compatibility for easy Camera-to-PC transfer for uploading to the internet.

A 'camera-for-life' if you will; something I can take with me EVERYWHERE I go, work, the gym, trips out, nights out. Multi-purpose resilient little thing that can fit in my pocket!

Anything you may think I've overlooked, feel free to chime in, and of course as always, any and all help is greatly appreciated smile

Thanks!

dpreview just did a couple of group tests in exactly this area:

Well worth spending some time reading through that..

The Panasonic Lumix LZ8 came out top.
