Will be back again reguarly in the New Year for business and will take proper gear next time but snapped a few on Tuesday night. For those interested, they're handheld with a Canon G7 with pretty high ISO, hence the noise.

Indeed but its illegal to publish (or even take) shots of the tower at night

not that I or anyone else cares but just one to be wary of!

Interesting - I didn't know anything about this and there are no notices (that I could see) around the tower or the city. However, based on what I've now read, you're a bit extreme in your interpretation of the law. "The prohibition to photograph the eiffel tower by night does not apply to amateurs who take pictures strictly for personal purposes; art. 122-5 of the French Copyright Code " The photo is on my personal website and is not for commerical use. Whether it appearing via a link on PH classifies it as being for 'collective use' is a different matter wink
Anyway, just have a look at Flickr and see how many images are displayed.... The city of Paris can chase them first... wink

I dont care about those laws my good man! I got chucked out of the London underground in the name of photography - ok I did cause a train to do an emergency stop which in retrospect was a bit silly of me to have my head so close to the platform edge to get "that" shot hehe
