I prefer the B/W version.

Thanks. The B&W 'version' is a different photo that didn't look as good in colour so I did a 'desaturate-and-turn-everything-to-max'; turned out OK. The camera was a Canon 30D with a Sigma 18-125 OS lens and the exposure was about f/9 and between 1/350 for the first one and 1/60 for the last; didn't use a tripod. I had some ND grads with me that I was using earlier but I think I'd stopped by that point. My shoes got a bit wet trying to get a photo with a surge of water coming in like in the last photo.

I'm the exact opposite. I think the third one is lovely, the second one pretty nice, and the B&W just dull. I remain, as ever, utterly perplexed by people's affection for B&W though!

Cheers. I'm not sure which one of those or the other 20 or so I like most; when you spend 3 hours staring at them whilst editing you start to dislike everything.

does it matter ??

let the photo's speak for themselves , are you really going to like them anymore or less just because the pics were taken on a D3/1Dmk3 etc as opposed to a D40/1000d etc ?
