I had an e-mail from someone at a website called NowPublic asking if one of my photos of the UBS building at Liverpool St on my flickr account could be used alongside a news article on their site. It's not the BBC or anything, but I'm quite pleased with that - should I be proud of this?! (i.e. it's a fairly low-brow site!)

A complete stranger wants to use one of your shots for something, and you haven't even had to try and persuade them to do so. I'd be bloody proud if it was anyone other than my Mum! hehe

They've used a few of mine before - they've always asked first, and gave full credit linking back to my website or Flickr account smile

I had a couple used of Top gear at the Silverstone 24 hours in 2007. Full credit and link back to my Flickr account with the previous poster. Don't expect to get any money though!;)

I'll have to see how I get a link back to my flickr account. And no I wasn't expecting to get rich from it wink

Do you need one for editorial use?

Interesting point which I'd certainly not considered, but a bit of searching threw this up:

"Another common legal release covers property. Property release forms are most commonly associated with buildings and architecture, a private building photographed from a public space can normally be used without consent provided that it does not misrepresent the building in any way. A photograph taken within the building or its grounds will require permission from the owners."
