Looking to buy a monopod. See loads of makes around just wondered what people tended to use and what makes to stay well away from.
Already have a Velbon tripod i like, so been looking at theirs as well as Manfretta. Not sure about them though.

Cheers

How tall are you? I bought mine from Adorama while I was in NY, and they did a monopod measurement for me biggrin

Anything over 150 cms extended should be OK, if you're over 6 foot tall try and get a longer on so you dont develop a stoop/sore neck if it's just a little too short.

I got mine from 7dayshop a while back, I think it cost less than £10 delivered and is more than tall enough for me (but then I am only 5'7" hehe )

I've got a Manfrotto Aluminium one, it's fairly light and sturdy. From what I remember it wasn't too pricey either

Depending on what you photograph you might consider a Leki pole. They do a combined walking pole and monopod. Of course - this may not be tall enough for you if you want to stand with your camera to your eye for panning shots etc. I use it when on hikes.

As do Camlink - for a tenner. Considering one myself.
